April Lockhart

April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She started with guitar and piano in seventh grade. This sparked her interest. When April was 12, she composed her first single, Different. At the age of 14 years old, April was spending a lot of time writing and honed her music ability. After that, she started taking trips to write with her father, who lived in NY as well as LA. The month also saw her include different topics related to some of her friends dealing with issues such as social pressure and teenage suicide as depicted in the song"Take my Hand. Lockhart has her own following and is a lifestyle blogger with the well-known Ilia Clean Beauty brand. She was born without her left hand, and it's part of who she is--but this isn't the whole truth. As a result Lockhart's Instagram page doesn't shy away from her disability, but it's not focused on the issue either. It's a message. It's crucial to understand that each of us has many faces, our identities vary and we're more than our bodies. Lockhart is interviewed through video from Nashville. "I do not want it to define my personal life. I do not want to only be identified as a specialist in disability. And it doesn't affect my day-to-day life I do every day as normal and have found my own way to adjust the things. However, I also consider it a very important part of myself. Lockhart inspires us to keep striving to be self-accepting. Lockhart admits to having been through a few phases with her physique, feeling uncomfortable in certain situations wearing clothing that displayed her arms. She wears whatever she wants and posts photos of herself dressed in outfits she picks out on social platforms. One of the keys to self-love for her is that it's not an end destination. It's a long journey. I don't think you ever reach your destination. The people you surround yourself with that truly understand your personal story and who can look through your eyes are the best people to help you remember what you're worrying about.
